Thank you so much for making this year a memorable one. Blue Water Ally Center has survived, grown, and proved its value. How do we know? The Community Foundation of Saint Clair County has gifted us the historic Atrium building. Blue Water Allies now has a permanent home. We fully intend to treat this beautiful building with honor and respect.
Your caring has resulted in this astonishing development. As the only LGBTQ + Center in all the Thumb region, your continued support is critical and has allowed the LGBTQ + community to feel safe, supported and seen. We are fully aware of our good fortune: to have a permanent home is rare.
A basic principle of Blue Water Allies is that we serve not only our target population, but the general public as well. All are welcome. You are welcome to attend our programs, activities and events. We are stronger together.
Your year end donation will make a huge difference in the coming year. With your generous contribution of $100, $500, or $1000, the Ally Center can begin to make the necessary and substantial repairs to the building. We can keep expanding our programming and services. We can grow our partnerships with other community organizations.
Because of you, individuals who have been very wounded have a place to heal. You have provided a food pantry and free clothing closet that is used weekly. The transgender community has benefited from having a support group in the face of violent attacks and loss of rights under the current government. Your financial support allows older adults who have not felt welcomed in church for years to speak of their faith in a safe and loving setting. Your donations allow the creative writing group where young and old join together to freely express themselves and develop confidence and competence. These are just a few samples of what is happening within your Blue Water Ally Center.
Again, we thank you for your continued and ongoing support. We urge you to make a generous contribution by December 31. We are a 501(3)(C) organization so all donations are tax deductible. Our Story
Blue Water Allies is dedicated to uniting the community, welcoming our allies, fostering inclusivity, and celebrating diversity by amplifying the voices of LGBTQ+ individuals. Blue Water Allies provides resources such as support for mental and physical health, recovery services, arts & culture, social activities and advocacy. The center creates a welcoming and inclusive space for marginalized communities and their allies, offering a platform for self expression , learning and building connections across diverse backgrounds. Blue Water Allies is the first and only LGBTQ+ in Michigan's Thumb Region.
The vision of Blue Water Allies is to continue operating an LGBTQ+ community center in downtown Port Huron that will serve the entire Blue Water community and beyond. We are as committed to serving the general public as we are to serving our LGBTQ+ community. We are stronger together than we are divided!
